ProxyFoundry gets nearly everything right for buyers ordering MTG proxies in quantity. The website is fast, intuitive, and remarkably easy to use, while the finished cards deliver impressive quality for the price. Our order came out to just $0.33 per card, with quick turnaround and noticeably better physical quality than PrintingProxies. Although premium singles specialists like ProxyKing still have an edge in certain aspects of card reproduction, ProxyFoundry offers a much stronger combination of quality, price, and convenience for complete decks and bulk orders.

- Cube owners ordering hundreds of cards

ProxyFoundry earns an excellent 4.7 out of 5 in our latest evaluation, making it one of our highest-rated MTG proxy printing services. Our hands-on testing found meaningful improvements in cardstock quality and print resolution, addressing two of the most important aspects of the finished product.
The website is fast and easy to navigate, fulfillment has been quick in our experience, and bulk pricing remains extremely competitive. One of our orders worked out to just $0.33 per card.
Our verdict: ProxyFoundry is one of the best overall choices for players who want attractive, well-made MTG proxies without paying premium-single prices. It is particularly compelling for Commander decks, Cubes, and larger orders.
ProxyFoundry Review: The Improvements Are More Than Cosmetic
There’s a significant difference between a proxy printing service that looks impressive online and one that delivers impressive cards.
ProxyFoundry manages both.
Our latest ProxyFoundry review is based on actual orders and hands-on inspection of the finished cards, not simply the specifications published on the company’s website. The results are substantially better than those from the service’s earlier production period.
The biggest differences are in the printing and cardstock.
Both have improved enough to change our overall assessment of the company. The print reproduction is sharper, and the upgraded cardstock produces a more convincing physical product. Combined with an exceptionally convenient storefront and competitive pricing, those changes push ProxyFoundry into the top tier of services we’ve evaluated.
This is particularly noteworthy because the company was already a strong option for quantity-focused buyers. Its original appeal centered primarily on affordability and convenience. With the improvements to its physical product, that recommendation becomes considerably broader.
ProxyFoundry is no longer simply a service we would suggest when ordering several hundred inexpensive cards. It now deserves consideration from buyers who place genuine importance on printing quality.

Print Quality: One of the Biggest Improvements
Print resolution is among the most important characteristics of any MTG proxy card. It’s also an area where the differences between printing companies can become immediately apparent.
A card can use expensive cardstock and still look disappointing if the printing lacks definition.
In our newer ProxyFoundry orders, the improvement in print reproduction is noticeable. The cards demonstrate substantially better image resolution than the earlier production samples we evaluated.
That’s an important improvement for Magic cards because so much information is packed into a relatively small area. Rules text, mana symbols, artwork, decorative frames, and collector information all compete for limited space.
At normal playing distance, many moderately printed proxies appear acceptable. Closer inspection is where shortcomings tend to emerge, particularly in fine artwork details and small text.
ProxyFoundry’s upgraded printing process produces a stronger result in this regard.
The company advertises artwork preparation at 300 DPI or better, although that specification alone doesn’t establish the quality of the finished card. Actual output depends on the original artwork, printing equipment, image processing, and the production process.
Our updated assessment is based on the physical results rather than the advertised resolution.
The difference is substantial enough that print quality is now a major reason to recommend ProxyFoundry, rather than merely an acceptable compromise in exchange for low prices.

How Does It Compare With PrintingProxies?
PrintingProxies is a useful comparison because it offers a similarly accessible way to order MTG proxies online.
However, our physical testing has consistently placed PrintingProxies behind the better services in finished print quality.
ProxyFoundry’s newer production results are markedly better.
The improved resolution gives ProxyFoundry a meaningful advantage in the overall presentation of its cards. Combined with the upgraded materials, the finished product is simply more impressive than the PrintingProxies cards we’ve evaluated.
This isn’t a difference we would attribute solely to marketing claims or specifications. It’s reflected in our experience with the actual products.
Considering that ProxyFoundry can also be considerably less expensive at larger quantities, the comparison is especially favorable.
Improved Cardstock Makes a Real Difference
Cardstock may be less exciting to discuss than beautiful artwork, but it’s just as important once a deck reaches the table.
A card’s construction affects how it feels between your fingers, how it handles inside sleeves, and whether an entire deck feels reasonably consistent.
Our newer ProxyFoundry samples demonstrate a meaningful improvement in cardstock quality.
That was one of the clearest reasons to increase the company’s rating.
The company currently advertises S33 German black-core cardstock with a UV-coated surface. This is intended to provide good opacity, a consistent card structure, and a finished surface suitable for repeated play.
However, the name of a cardstock is not a complete measure of the finished product.
Two companies can advertise similar materials while producing cards that feel substantially different. Printing methods, coatings, material handling, and finishing processes all influence the result.
Even within a single company, changes to production can affect the final product without requiring an entirely different marketing description.
In ProxyFoundry’s case, our testing found that the newer cardstock and production process represent a worthwhile improvement over the earlier output.
The result is a more convincing physical card, with construction that better complements the upgraded printing.
For buyers assembling complete decks, this matters considerably. A good proxy should be pleasant to handle and should not feel like a cheaply printed substitute every time it is drawn from a sleeve.
ProxyFoundry has made meaningful progress toward that standard.
Cutting, Finishing, and Everyday Playability
Printing and cardstock are the standout improvements, but they’re not the only things that matter.
Even an attractive proxy can be frustrating if it’s the wrong size, has poorly cut corners, or doesn’t fit properly into standard sleeves.
ProxyFoundry uses precision die cutting and produces cards in the familiar trading-card format, approximately 2.5 × 3.5 inches.
Its UV coating provides a finished surface intended to withstand ordinary handling and sleeved gameplay.
Our assessment of cutting remains more measured than our assessment of the upgraded printing and cardstock. We haven’t identified the same degree of improvement in cutting that we’ve observed in those two areas, and ordinary production tolerances still matter.
This is worth considering with designs that feature very thin borders. Even relatively small shifts in cutting position can be more visible on those cards than on borderless artwork.
For typical sleeved Commander and Cube use, however, ProxyFoundry’s general construction and finishing approach is appropriate for the job.
The important distinction is that the latest quality improvements strengthen the whole product. Better artwork reproduction is more valuable when it’s paired with cardstock that feels right.
The Website Is One of ProxyFoundry’s Strongest Features
A surprisingly large number of proxy printing services make ordering more complicated than necessary.
ProxyFoundry takes a refreshingly practical approach.
The website is fast, responsive, and easy to navigate. In our experience, moving through the ordering process feels snappy rather than cumbersome, which becomes especially important when selecting large quantities of individual cards.
Customers can search for specific cards, browse sets, select available artwork versions, and build orders directly from a decklist.
This eliminates much of the preparation required when using a general-purpose printing company.
For example, a Commander player with a completed decklist can work from that list rather than independently downloading, formatting, and uploading every image.
The interface also makes it relatively straightforward to review the selected cards and quantities before checkout.
We particularly appreciate that the ordering experience is centered around what MTG players actually need.
There’s no reason someone ordering a normal Commander deck should have to become an expert in commercial print production.
One limitation remains: ProxyFoundry’s more advanced custom-card creation tools are still in development. Players who want to modify card frames, rewrite rules text, or build completely original designs may find PrintMTG’s creation tools more suitable.
For conventional MTG proxy orders, though, ProxyFoundry’s website is excellent.
Pricing: Excellent Value Without Sacrificing Quality
Price has always been one of the biggest reasons to consider ProxyFoundry. The improved physical product makes that value proposition even stronger.
In one of our orders, the effective price was just $0.33 per card.
That’s exceptionally attractive for professionally printed cards, especially considering the newer material and print-quality improvements.
Pricing depends on order quantity. ProxyFoundry’s published pricing calculator, for example, currently shows 500 cards at $0.38 each, or $190 for the cards.
The company also advertises no minimum order and free shipping on qualifying orders over $75.
The difference in cost can become substantial when printing complete decks or large collections.
A service charging $0.75 per card costs $375 for 500 cards before shipping. At $0.38 per card, the same quantity costs $190.
That’s a $185 difference.
Of course, price alone doesn’t determine which company offers the better value. A less expensive product isn’t a bargain if the cards arrive blurry, poorly cut, or unpleasant to use.
That’s why the improved ProxyFoundry production quality matters so much.
The company combines low bulk pricing with a physical product that performed very well in our latest testing.
Some advanced buyers may still obtain competitive prices through MakePlayingCards and MPCFill, particularly for very large projects. But that workflow comes with more preparation, additional production choices, and potentially higher international shipping charges.
ProxyFoundry offers a simpler alternative with a strong combination of price, quality, and convenience.
Fast Turnaround and Straightforward Fulfillment
Our ordering experience with ProxyFoundry has also been positive from a fulfillment standpoint.
Turnaround was quick, and the ordering process didn’t introduce unnecessary complications.
The company currently advertises production within approximately one to three business days, with most ordinary orders leaving production in about two business days.
Domestic carrier transit generally adds another three to seven business days, depending on the selected shipping method and destination.
Those are estimates rather than guaranteed arrival dates.
Larger orders, holidays, and busy periods can increase production time. Customers placing time-sensitive orders should remember that expedited shipping generally reduces transit time, not the time required to print the cards.
ProxyFoundry also maintains published policies for damaged products, missing cards, incorrect orders, and qualifying print defects.
Customers are generally expected to report these problems within 14 days of delivery, with eligible remedies including replacements, reprints, or refunds.
The combination of accessible policies, a convenient storefront, and our favorable turnaround experience contributes positively to the overall rating.
Where ProxyFoundry Still Has Room to Improve
A 4.7/5 rating is excellent, but it doesn’t mean the company is the best choice for every possible order.
The biggest limitation is customization.
ProxyFoundry currently focuses on existing MTG card printings rather than a fully developed custom-card design system. Buyers creating original cards, personalized commanders, or elaborate alternate-art projects may want more control than the current tools provide.
The company also offers fewer specialty manufacturing choices than MakePlayingCards. Buyers who require unusual cardstocks, nonstandard sizes, elaborate packaging, or specialized finishes may find a general custom-card manufacturer more flexible.
For international buyers, shipping arrangements may require additional coordination. It’s important to compare the complete delivered price rather than assuming domestic pricing applies everywhere.
And while the improved print resolution and cardstock are significant, buyers seeking the closest possible reproduction of a particular original card should still consider specialist services such as ProxyKing.
These limitations don’t meaningfully undermine ProxyFoundry’s strongest use cases. They simply establish where a different printing company might be more appropriate.
Who Should Choose ProxyFoundry?
Based on our latest testing, ProxyFoundry is especially appealing to:
- Commander players who want an entire playable deck with good physical quality.
- Cube owners who need hundreds of cards with consistent construction.
- Bulk buyers looking for low per-card pricing without giving up attractive printing.
- Casual playgroups combining multiple decks into a single order.
- Players dissatisfied with PrintingProxies who want a noticeably better finished product.
- First-time proxy buyers who value a straightforward website and uncomplicated ordering.
- Experienced players who want to test new decks without purchasing every expensive original.
It’s a particularly strong option for customers who care about both the physical cards and the total cost.
Previously, we viewed the service primarily as a value-oriented choice. The upgraded manufacturing process changes that assessment.
ProxyFoundry now competes much more convincingly on product quality while retaining the advantages that made it attractive in the first place.
How ProxyFoundry Earned Its 4.7/5 Rating
ProxyFoundry’s rating reflects an updated evaluation of the current product, not simply a change in branding.
The service previously operated as ProxyMTG, which received a 4.4/5 rating based on our earlier testing of 200 cards across two orders.
That historical review remains relevant, but it describes an earlier production period.
Our newer orders demonstrate improvements in two categories that carry substantial weight in our evaluation: print quality and card construction.
These improvements are particularly meaningful because those areas were among the main limitations identified in the previous assessment.
The ordering experience remains a major strength, the turnaround has been favorable, and pricing continues to compare well for larger purchases.
Taken together, these findings support our updated 4.7/5 overall rating.
The previous 4.4/5 score remains attached to the historical ProxyMTG review. This rating represents our assessment of the current ProxyFoundry product based on newer hands-on testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ProxyFoundry Good Quality?
Yes. Our latest hands-on testing found notable improvements in both print resolution and cardstock quality. Those changes make ProxyFoundry one of our strongest overall recommendations for professionally printed MTG proxies.
Is ProxyFoundry Better Than PrintingProxies?
In our experience, yes, particularly when evaluating the finished cards. ProxyFoundry’s improved print reproduction and cardstock produce a substantially better physical product than the PrintingProxies cards we’ve tested. Its bulk pricing can also be more attractive.
How Much Do ProxyFoundry Cards Cost?
Prices vary by quantity. One of our orders worked out to $0.33 per card, while the company’s current pricing calculator lists 500 cards at $0.38 each. Smaller orders generally have higher per-card prices.
Can You Order a Complete Commander Deck From ProxyFoundry?
Yes. ProxyFoundry supports decklist-based ordering and is particularly well suited to complete Commander decks, Cubes, and larger collections of casual-play proxies.
Are ProxyFoundry Cards Tournament Legal?
No. ProxyFoundry produces unofficial proxy cards for casual play and playtesting where permitted. They should not be represented or sold as authentic Magic cards. Sanctioned tournaments generally require genuine cards, subject to the event’s official rules and limited judge-issued proxy exceptions.
Final Verdict: One of the Best Overall MTG Proxy Printing Services
ProxyFoundry has earned its place among our highest-rated MTG proxy printing companies.
What makes the service particularly impressive isn’t any single feature. It’s the combination of an excellent website, very competitive pricing, quick fulfillment, and a finished product that has improved significantly.
The upgraded cardstock and sharper printing are the biggest developments.
These changes address aspects of the product that matter every time someone handles a card. They also make ProxyFoundry more competitive with quality-focused printing services, rather than relying primarily on its low pricing to attract buyers.
At an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5, ProxyFoundry is one of our strongest recommendations for MTG players ordering complete decks, Cubes, or larger quantities of cards.
There are still reasons to choose other services, particularly for specialized custom-card creation or highly specific replica-style products.
But for most players who want attractive, durable, affordable proxies with an excellent ordering experience, ProxyFoundry is difficult to beat.
